A local authority organization is offering a 12-month civil engineering placement focused on coastal projects. Ideal for students studying civil engineering, this role includes site supervision, project management, and technical skills development. Coastal Partners works with five local authorities to protect communities and the environment across 246 km of coastline and three major harbours of national importance. As part of our Capital Programme Delivery Team, you’ll gain practical experience on multimillion‑pound projects, including the landmark Southsea scheme and works around Portsea Island.
This is more than just a placement – it’s an opportunity to develop technical skills, work alongside experienced engineers, and see your contribution make a difference to communities and the environment.
We are looking for suitable applicants, currently studying for a civil engineering related degree to undertake a 12‑month industrial placement. The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the requirements of an Engineering Technician and be willing to travel to sites within the Partnership area. The post will commence in May/June 2026. Graduates, those not currently studying for a civil engineering related degree, and those who will have completed their studies by the time the placement starts will not be considered for this position.
