Overview

The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour. This is a temporary Christmas Customer Assistant role at Boots during the festive season, with potential for a permanent role later depending on local opportunities. The role involves greeting customers, offering product and gift advice, and helping create a positive shopping experience that encourages repeat visits throughout the year.

About the role

You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager. Your responsibilities include:

  • Customer Interaction: Offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight offers to ensure an enjoyable shopping experience.
  • Till Operation: Wrap up purchases at the counter or support self-checkout, delivering energy and efficiency in transactions.
  • Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the peak season.
  • Store Presentation: Ensure every area looks its best.
  • Online order support: May assist with deliveries, picking and packing for online orders as needed.
What you’ll need to have

Full training is provided, but these are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed:

  • Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day
  • Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience
  • Operations Ready: Ability to balance customer care with daily shopfloor and operational tasks
  • Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn and use new technology, including handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts
  • Team Player: Collaborative, one-team mindset
  • Physical Stamina: Able to stand, walk and lift as required
  • Brand Ambassador: Enthusiasm for Boots ethos, products and services
Desirable experience

Experience in a retail or customer-facing environment and familiarity with Boots products and services are welcome but not essential.
