Overview

Support Worker — Aran Hall School, Rhydymain, Dolgellau, Gwynedd, LL40 2AR

Salary: £23,985.00 - £24,570.00 per year (weekend bonus included) dependent on experience and qualifications. Full-time role with a 2 days on, 4 days off rota plus an additional 12 hours in each 6-week period (and repeat). Each shift is 14 hours (8am – 10pm). A bonus payment of £1,500 will be payable to new care staff (Support Worker grade only) who join with a relevant qualification (terms & conditions apply).

We would like support workers to join our ever growing team here at Aran Hall School. We provide 52 week residential care with education to children and young people with a range of learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities
  • Be a role model and mentor for young people and play a key part in supporting them.
  • Provide care within the home and classroom environments, including teaching life skills such as cooking and cleaning, and offering academic support.
  • Attend regular training sessions to ensure up-to-date knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
  • Support the planning and delivery of activities to suit the interests of the young people (e.g., gaming, local walks, football).
  • Be proactive and forward-plan to ensure a wide range of hobbies and activities are accessible to the young people.
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with young people and excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential, as training and support are provided.
