Overview

Job Title: Children’s Placements Project Manager & SEND Placements Project Manager

Contract Length: Initial 3–6 month interim contracts

Location: Yorkshire, hybrid working (2–3 days onsite per week)

Pay rate: Up to £450 per day (Umbrella)

Role overview

Two exciting interim opportunities with my client in Yorkshire, supporting major transformation across Children’s Services and SEND commissioning. This role will be instrumental in driving capacity across three key programmes: CLA sufficiency, SEND sufficiency, and Alternative Provision bringing structure, compliance, and financial oversight to a service under pressure. As the Project Manager, you’ll work closely with commissioning leads and frontline teams to stabilise off-contract spend, improve safeguarding compliance, and support the delivery of sustainable placement strategies.

Your duties
  • Lead and support delivery of CLA and SEND sufficiency programmes
  • Create and manage project plans, ensuring financial alignment (POs, contracts, budgets)
  • Support commissioning compliance across SEND, AP, and CLA
  • Prepopulate forms and run mail merges for provider agreements
  • Maintain and populate contract compliance registers
  • Pull together data and documentation for new workstreams
  • Liaise with providers and internal teams to ensure safeguarding and contract alignment
  • Work collaboratively with commissioning leads and Heads of Service
Your experience
  • Strong understanding of children’s social care and SEND placements
  • Experience in commissioning or project management within local authority settings
  • Agile, calm, and responsive to shifting priorities
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and documentation skills
  • Enhanced DBS and 5 years of references required
