Job description

Camp Manager – Koala Klubs at Towcester Scout Centre

Join the team that makes school holidays unforgettable!

Koala Klubs Activity Camps deliver outstanding school holiday childcare for children aged 5–14, combining sports, games, creative arts, and adventure in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. Our camps are designed to inspire confidence, teamwork, and joy — with children’s welfare and happiness at the heart of everything we do.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Camp Manager to lead our Christmas Holiday Camp on the following dates: December 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th, 31st, and January 2nd.

Your Role

As Camp Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in ensuring every child enjoys a safe, engaging, and memorable experience. You’ll manage a team of Activity Leaders, oversee daily operations, and ensure Koala Klubs’ high standards of care, safety, and fun are consistently delivered.

Main Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain an exciting, child-friendly base room that encourages engagement and fun.
  • Lead by example, ensuring all staff follow Koala Klubs’ policies and procedures for safeguarding, health, and safety.
  • Provide active supervision and support for children throughout the day — including during breaks, lunch, and transitions.
  • Coordinate and assist with the delivery of timetabled activities and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Get to know every child — their interests, personalities, and preferences — and tailor the camp experience accordingly.
  • Plan, deliver, and oversee a wide variety of age‑appropriate activities that inspire creativity, confidence, and teamwork.
  • Take overall responsibility for the welfare, safeguarding, and enjoyment of children on site.
  • Lead, motivate, and support the team to deliver up to 10 structured sessions using provided resources and training.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy environment, ensuring all equipment is safely stored and cared for.
What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an inspiring leader with a genuine passion for working with children and a proactive approach to management and safety.

Requirements
  • Previous experience or qualifications within childcare, sports coaching, or teaching (minimum Level 2 qualification).
  • A confident leader who is enthusiastic, caring, organized, and adaptable.
  • Eligible to work in the UK with satisfactory references.
  • Able to complete an enhanced DBS check (or already registered on the Update Service).
  • Willing to complete online training and attend a pre‑camp induction at the venue.
  • Prepared to assist with set‑up and pack‑down duties before and after camp sessions.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensure all Health & Safety and safeguarding standards are consistently met.
  • Deliver activities that are appropriate for each age group and inclusive of all children’s needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and respect among children and staff.
  • Diligently follow all camp systems (registration, collection, accident reporting, etc.) and support colleagues to do the same.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required, including swimming supervision (swimwear and spare t-shirt required).
  • Promote Koala Klubs’ values by being a positive role model and champion of wellbeing, inclusion, and fun.
  • Report any child protection or welfare concerns promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
