An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lawyer to join a well-established Case Management Team specialising in public law children’s matters. This role offers high-quality, meaningful work within a supportive in-house legal environment, focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and families.

We are working with a respected local authority legal team that is known for its collaborative culture, strong supervision, and commitment to professional development. This position is well suited to a lawyer looking to build or further their career in public law children’s work with genuine work-life balance.

The Role
  • Handling care proceedings and related public law matters from pre-proceedings through to conclusion
  • Drafting court documents, statements and legal advice
  • Liaising closely with social care teams, counsel, courts and other stakeholders
  • Attending and representing at hearings, with advocacy support available
  • Providing clear, practical legal advice to internal clients
  • Contributing to team objectives within a supportive, hybrid working environment

The level of responsibility will be tailored to experience, with appropriate supervision and development opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent)
  • Experience in, or a strong interest in, public law children’s work
  • Strong drafting, organisational and communication skills
  • Confident managing competing deadlines and caseloads
