Overview

Brightwork have an excellent opportunity for an experienced chemist to join our manufacturing client at their site in North Ayrshire, working on a full-time, permanent basis.

This role involves delivering high-quality analysis, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with HSE standards while contributing to innovation and safe product introduction.

The Role - Chemist
  • Analyse raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to meet company and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical advice on substances, analytical methods, and interpretation of results.
  • Develop and validate both energetic and non-energetic materials to meet safety and performance standards.
  • Support safe introduction of new and transferred products into manufacturing.
  • Contribute technical input to projects, bids, and proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and company procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
The successful candidate
  • Degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
  • Practical laboratory experience in testing and analysis.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials, COSHH, and analytical techniques.
  • Experience with energetic materials and industry standards (MoD/NATO) is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proactive approach with commitment to safety and quality.
