Job summary

A delightful pub & restaurant in Hatching Green is seeking a Chef to prepare and present food with the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months experience and be able to work independently while maintaining cleanliness and safety regulations. In return, you'll receive a competitive pay rate of £13-£14 per hour plus tips, along with generous holiday, pension, and other perks in a supportive work environment.

Chef - The Old Cock Inn - Harpenden, Hertfordshire
Company Description

The Old Cock Inn is a delightful pub & restaurant in the heart of Harpenden, offering guests the added benefit of six boutique bedrooms.

We have a stylish and cosy restaurant, a relaxed and informal bar area with a roaring log fire for the colder months, and our lovely terrace garden at the back.

We’re what you might call a ‘proper pub’ serving a selection of real ales and craft beers, alongside an extensive wine, gin and spirit list.

Position

Your role as chef :

  • Prepare, cook and present perfect food in accordance with company standards therefore exceeding guest satisfaction at every eating occasion
  • Taking PRIDE in maintaining highest standards of cleanliness
  • Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations at all times
  • Adhering accurately and consistently to portion controls
  • Carrying out stock rotation to ensure all food items are within their shelf life, including maintaining correct storage conditions
  • Ensuring the kitchen operation is maintained to the highest of standards with regards to cleanliness and maintenance
Requirements

What we are looking for :
