Join us as an Chartered Monitoring Surveyor

  • This is an opportunity to take on an influential role in our Real Estate Finance business
  • You’ll be reviewing lending opportunities and providing input to transaction due diligence, working within the team's specific terms of engagement
  • You’ll be exposed to a broad range of stakeholders, giving you and your work excellent exposure
What you'll do

As part of a specialist team, you’ll be providing market intelligence to help inform business strategies and lending decisions. With your specialist property knowledge, you’ll be undertaking and supporting real estate finance activities, providing comprehensive and relevant analysis of key risks and issues, and assisting with independent desktop revaluations.

Your other duties will include:

  • Keeping up to date with market and economic activities to share your knowledge, and providing training and development activities for continuous improvement
  • Providing proactive insights and purposefully directing efforts to where the most value can be added
  • Reviewing customer business plans, construction costs and sustainable income, and key milestones
  • Providing clarity on development appraisals, construction and budget risk analysis and property modelling and cash flow analysis
  • Driving best practices in managing the bank-wide property professional risk and control frameworks and adviser panels
The skills you'll need

You’ll already have extensive knowledge and experience in real estate or real estate investment, with an ability to analyse and interpret development budgets, appraisals and building programmes or the UK property market.

It’s essential that you have an MRICS professional qualification or equivalent, a professional accreditation and appropriate work experience in a market facing real estate position.

Along with this, you’ll need:

  • Excellent research abilities and the ability to appropriately interpret and apply key findings, relevant to transaction, advisory or training activities
  • Proven risk assessment, monitoring and control skills in a real estate finance environment
  • A thorough understanding of UK valuation, financial modelling or construction principles, theory and practice
  • Excellent attention to detail and a thorough understanding of business appetite and key risk criteria, with the ability to add value to transactions across the real estate customer spectrum
