Job summary

Immunocore Ltd. is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation for CMC in Oxford. The role focuses on protein characterization of biopharmaceutical products, including peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass analysis, with responsibility for leading investigations and contributing to method development.

You will work in a bench-based biopharmaceutical lab, interact with cross-functional teams, and participate in data-driven decisions while upholding EHS and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Experienced in the characterisation of proteins expressed in both microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications in biological systems.

Responsibilities

• Characterise drug substance and drug product using protein characterisation techniques.
• Contribute to development of characterisation methods for biopharmaceutical products, including LC-MS/MS and intact mass analysis.
• Lead investigations and propose experiments based on data; mentor others as needed.
• Present detailed findings to internal teams and external partners.
