Job summary

Senior Scientist I - Characterisation within CMC at Immunocore in Oxford is seeking an experienced biochemist to advance peptide mapping and mass spectrometry characterisation of biopharmaceutical products. You will contribute to impurity characterisation, protein analysis across microbial and mammalian systems, and development of characterisation methods including LC-MS/MS and intact mass analysis.

Applicants should have hands-on HPLC-based peptide mapping experience and glycosylation analysis,

Qualifications

Experience in development of HPLC-based peptide mapping methods and mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
Understanding of expected post-translational modifications.

Responsibilities

Design and carry out biochemical characterisation, chemical stability and comparability studies of biologics/drug products.
Contribute to writing study protocols and reports.
Independently testing and, increasingly, leading lines of investigation; propose new experiments.
Provide technical guidance and mentor other colleagues on analytical methods.
Present detailed scientific findings to internal and external audiences.
