Riverside Digital and Technology embeds DevOps as a key method of its delivery approach and principles. The value it delivers relies on maintaining a cadence, so the role holder will ensure that all members of their DevOps Chapter work well together to deliver that value. Reporting directly to the Head of Digital Products, you will own and be accountable for all Digital Products in the Corporate domain, including Oracle HCM and Oracle ERP, and keep on top of emerging trends and technologies, leveraging all technologies to add most value to the group through a DevOps‑focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain expertise in emerging technologies and trends, particularly around Oracle HCM and ERP / EPM
- Ensure strategic alignment of the Digital Products within the Corporate Domain with the Corporate Plan and the Digital and Technology strategy
- Be accountable for the strategy and roadmap for Digital Products within the Corporate domain, leveraging technologies and methodologies to enable relevant business plans
- Develop the DevOps squad across the corporate domain, ensuring functional and technical support within Digital and Technology, and develop appropriate business operating models in collaboration with CIO functions and each customer area
- Develop, lead and manage a high‑performing, cost effective and scalable provision of internal and external resources to meet business demands and realise value across Digital Products in the Corporate domain
- Be proactive in understanding and leveraging broader product, cyber and infrastructure technologies and methodologies
- Influence key decisions at a senior level including capital spend for large future technology investments made by the Group, ensuring technical information is successfully presented and understood by non‑technical audiences, including Executive Directors
- Be accountable for Service performance and change delivery across Digital Products within the Corporate domain
- Be accountable for the planning and provision of Oracle environments for all support, enhancement and change activities, managed through the Oracle console
- Approve order of magnitude estimates of both cost and resource at Discovery phase, based on high‑level scope and requirements, and support project teams in refining those estimates through subsequent phases of the delivery methodology
- Approve non‑functional requirements and be accountable for reporting of progress, risks and issues across all design, development, test, deployment and warranty phases
- Approve technical design reviews and be accountable for all configuration and customisation, ensuring it follows Oracle and wider industry best practice, and ensuring they are designed, developed, tested, deployed and maintained to meet requirements
- Demonstrate expertise in advanced programming concepts across PL/SQL and Java technologies
- Be accountable for configuration and customisation in line with Oracle best practices across technologies and methodologies
- Approve testing activities as product owner, ensuring QA standards are met across performance and volume testing, systems integration testing and user acceptance testing
- Manage key risks and issues across assigned modules and business areas, establishing risk mitigation or acceptance by accountable stakeholders
- Provide service and support including service requests, incidents, problem and change, proactively managing performance, availability and resilience
- Be accountable for the quarterly releases, identifying any technology or methodology changes that will impact product or business, and champion the approval, prioritisation and adoption of enhancements
- Be accountable for the relationship with Oracle as a vendor through proactive relationships with service, account management and customer success teams, and manage Oracle partners and System Integrators across development and support activities
- Be accountable for the Audit and compliance of the system, ensuring Oracle good practice is met in accordance with the Group's policy, procedures and principles across logical access and change management
- Be accountable for all information security, including data protection, for all Corporate Products, in accordance with the Group's policy, procedures and statutory requirements
- Respond flexibly to any necessary changes in work priorities, undertake other duties when required and participate in an on‑call rota if required
Qualifications & Experience
- Oracle experience in HCM, Finance and EPM along with knowledge of data migration, integration, test and release strategies in relation to Oracle
- Experience of developing high‑performing teams
- Broad knowledge of technologies and methodologies across Digital Products, Cyber and Infrastructure
- Experience of managing tier 1 ERP systems such as Oracle
- Relevant IT qualifications, equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree or above
- Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile and DevOps approaches and methodologies
- Knowledge of Service methodologies and approaches
- Proven Oracle Cloud knowledge across HCM, Financials or EPM
- Knowledge of data migration, integration, test and release strategies in relation to Oracle
- Knowledge of the Oracle Cloud quarterly release cycle and key activities
- Proven experience of working with Oracle as a vendor, and with an implementation partner
Desirable
- Completion of at least two full Oracle Cloud HCM or Financials implementations
- Oracle Fusion HCM or Financials certification
- Experience supporting HR functions in Oracle HCM across a medium to large‑scale Oracle Cloud implementations, including key HR concepts, functional guidance and technical build for at least three of HCM, Payroll, Absence, Expenses, Learning, Performance, Recruitment
- Experience supporting accounting functions in Oracle ERP across a medium to large‑scale Oracle Cloud implementations, including key Financial concepts, functional guidance and technical build for at least three of GL, Payables, Receivables, Purchasing, Procurement, Expenses, Asset, Collections, and Cash Management
- Experience of developing Oracle OTBI dashboards and reports
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Data Conversion
- Experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud
- Experience of Oracle Cloud delivered Web Services (SOAP & REST)
- Experience with Oracle Identity Manager, MS Active Directory, and Identity Propagation
- Experience with Oracle Cloud SaaS Security
