Job description
Catering Assistant

Our award winning school meals have never tasted better and we are proud to offer pupils across the borough a great range of delicious, healthy meals, using locally sourced, high quality ingredients.

We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our friendly and supportive catering team at Shirley Heath Junior School, Coombe Rd, Shirley, Solihull B90 3DS

Salary: £24,413 - £24,796 pro rata, per annum - 16 hours per week, term time 38.6 weeks = salary is £8,948.83 gross per annum.

Working pattern: 16 hours a week, Monday - Friday, Term Time only. This role could be ideal to fit in around caring responsibilities.

Key duties include serving healthy award-winning meals made from locally sourced ingredients, maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen, basic food preparation, preparing counters and the dining room for service, operating the cashless till system, and cleaning duties.

You will need a Level 2 Food Safety qualification or be willing to complete and pass it within your first 12 months of service. You will also have experience of delivering excellent customer service and working as part of a team. Good communication skills, enthusiasm and self-motivation are essential to continue delivering the high standards we are proud to have achieved.
