Our client is recruiting for an experienced Category Manager to lead the marketing and sales performance of a dynamic product portfolio. The portfolio will evolve in line with supply windows, market demand, and new product development, offering an exciting and varied role within a fast-moving environment.

You will play a key role in shaping category strategy, driving growth, and working cross‑functionally to deliver innovative, market‑led solutions for customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the marketing and sales performance of an assigned product portfolio, ensuring category objectives set by your line manager are achieved
  • Monitor and analyse market, consumer, food, and demographic trends using a range of data sources
  • Develop and implement category strategies based on robust market insight
  • Lead and participate in regular category reviews with customers, presenting insights, recommendations, and opportunities
  • Recommend and support initiatives across:
    • New Product Development (NPD)
    • Promotions
    • Merchandising
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Development, Marketing, Technical, and Production teams to deliver category plans
  • Identify, develop, and manage new product opportunities for both existing and new markets, following the company’s NPD process
  • Deliver agreed sales targets and Gross Trade Profit for your category
  • Grow existing customer relationships and develop new business opportunities to increase market share
  • Agree qualitative and quantitative category objectives with your line manager
  • Provide support to other categories and departments when required
