Responsibilities
- Responsible for undertaking plumbing repairs in domestic and non-domestic properties (e.g. toilet, tap and trough repairs) that align with the Cartref principles in a safe and competent manner that provides excellent customer service.
- Deliver behaviour‑changing education to customers on water efficiency to encourage a reduction in customer demand and drive the efficient use of water within our customer base.
- Install basic water‑efficiency products within customer properties (hose guns, shower heads) on water‑efficiency visits.
- Represent Welsh Water in the community (ad‑hoc), to promote Water Efficiency as well as other Welsh Water support schemes.
- Report on delivery outputs through our corporate system in a compliant and accurate manner.
- Review customer report videos and update corporate systems in a timely manner.
- Have a sound understanding of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations (1999).
- Support the Private Leakage workstream and/or Cartref programme where required.
- Act as an initial point of escalation/support to other inspectors within the team and wider teams on technical issues and customer enquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all company Health and Safety Procedures, prioritising the safety of yourself, colleagues, contractors and customers, and undertake additional H&S duties (e.g. Safety Conversations, Briefings, etc.).
- Obtain and maintain Water Safe accreditation and remain up‑to‑date with all other mandatory company training.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service in line with our company values.

Internal: Welsh Water Senior Staff, Water Engineering wider team, Vulnerability Team, OCC and BCC Team
External: Domestic and Non‑Domestic Customers, External Stakeholders (e.g. Housing associations, Local Authorities)
Qualifications
- 5 GCSE grades (or equivalent qualification) including English and Maths, or experience in water distribution networks
- Good interpersonal skills (e.g. building rapport, listening effectively)
- Excellent problem‑solving skills
- Plumbing qualification (NVQ 2 or equivalent)
- Good communication skills (e.g. clear and concise)
- IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
- Current, full valid UK driving licence

- A company vehicle will be provided
- Core working hours Monday – Friday (8:30 – 16:30)
- The successful candidate must be willing to participate in a standby rota if required
