Overview

The purpose of this role is to support our business development team in growing and retaining a high profile, international client base. You will play a key part in nurturing strong, long term partnerships with global organisations, ensuring they gain exceptional value from their engagement with Cambridge.

About the team: Cambridge Online Education is building a newly developed commercial team to drive growth and innovation in professional online learning for organisations worldwide. We are seeking a talented and motivated Client Relationship Manager to join us at this exciting stage as we move from start up to scale up.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong, consultative relationships with high profile UK and international clients.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring clients maximise the value of their engagement with Cambridge.
  • Manage digital assets and client deal rooms, keeping them aligned with client priorities.
  • Collaborate with business development and operations teams to ensure exceptional delivery of programmes and experiences.
  • Represent the client’s needs within the University, coordinating bespoke activities and events.
  • Deliver high quality client experiences including events, workshops and alumni programmes.
  • Partner with business development colleagues to identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Support proposals and pitches that align Cambridge's capabilities with client ambitions.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic deals, informed by operational and client insights.
  • Drive renewals and strategic reviews to strengthen long term client partnerships.
  • Act as the central point of coordination for corporate client delivery across the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with academics, instructional designers, marketing teams and other experts to ensure programmes meet Cambridge's high standards.
  • Champion a "One Cambridge" approach, ensuring consistency and excellence across every client interaction.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in client relationship management, account management, or strategic partnerships, ideally in education, consultancy, or professional services.
  • A strong understanding of client management principles including onboarding, retention and growth strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing complex, multi stakeholder projects to a high standard.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across diverse teams and disciplines.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellence.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and an understanding of project management approaches.
