Overview

Job Title: Team Leader - Days
Location: Hailsham
Hours: 36 hours per week (8am - 8pm, including weekends)
Pay: From £13.65 per hour


We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our care team in Hailsham. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring that our residents receive the highest standard of care and support in line with individual care plans and regulatory requirements.


You will lead by example, guiding and supervising care staff, promoting best practices, and stepping in with hands-on support when needed.



Responsibilities


  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of care staff during day shifts

  • Ensure high standards of person-centred care are delivered at all times

  • Administer or oversee medication in line with care plans and medication policies

  • Support staff with training, induction, and performance monitoring

  • Conduct care reviews, handovers, and ensure accurate documentation

  • Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies and safeguarding concerns

  • Liaise effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and management

  • Promote dignity, respect, and independence among all service users



Requirements


  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (required); Level 3 desirable

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a care setting (preferred)

  • At least 1 year in a supervisory or senior carer role (preferred)

  • Medication administration experience (preferred)

  • Experience in elderly or dementia care (desirable)

  • A valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to work alternate weekends
