Job description
Overview

A day in this varied role could include providing support with eating and drinking; administering medication; providing personal care; and liaising with external agencies, such as parents/carers and care providers. We have a variety of residential services including Independent Living, Short Breaks and FE Residential, and you will work across all of them. Our residential areas are based on a woodland campus in the heart of Sherwood Forest, close to Mansfield which includes a fully accessible climbing wall and zip wire that many of our learners and citizens enjoy using. If you would like to join our team, we look forward to hearing from you. As this role involves regulated activity with our learners, we will be required to carry out a full enhanced DBS check with child and adult barred lists.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support with eating and drinking; administer medication; provide personal care; and liaise with external agencies (parents/carers and care providers).
  • Work across all residential services (Independent Living, Short Breaks, FE Residential).
  • Be aware of safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of learners, citizens, customers, volunteers and staff.
  • Complete the Safer Recruitment requirements as applicable, including DBS checks and right to work verification.
  • Contribute to a positive and safe environment and support learners with complex needs and disabilities as required.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent or be willing to work towards this qualification.
  • Meds and PEGs trained and qualified or able to complete qualification within the first six months of role.
  • Desirable: Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Be responsible for and actively engage in own personal development; Disability Confident.
  • Be prepared for regulated activity and enhanced DBS checks; provide evidence of care qualifications where applicable; complete the Care Certificate within three months where required; right to work in the UK.

  • 45 hours per week? (Note: original text stated 35 hours; left as in original wording if applicable). 35 hours worked over Monday - Sunday with rotating shifts; shifts include 6:45am - 2:45pm or 2:30pm - 10:30pm.
  • 35 hours worked over Monday - Sunday. Rotating shift pattern with a pattern of 7 days on/3 or 4 days off.
