Social Care Service Coordinator
Location: Renfrewshire/East Renfrewshire
Pay: £28,000.00 per year | Salary: Competitive | Contract: Permanent
Responsibilities
- Promote, develop & manage staff and services in designated local areas to ensure services reflect individuals' needs, are outcomes focused, and treat each person, their families and other carers with respect and dignity.
- Liaise with referral agents; promote new referrals and process referrals.
- Assess individuals' needs and aspirations/outcomes.
- Plan, co-ordinate and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality support & care.
- Flexibly respond to individual needs and aspirations; assist individuals to have maximum opportunities to direct their care to live as fully, inclusively and independently as possible as valued citizens in the community, in accordance with their wishes.
- Provide leadership and a proactive management approach to support staff and services to develop in a flexible, proactive and responsive manner.
Essential experience, knowledge and skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and computer skills.
- Experience and aptitude for staff scheduling and rosters.
- Substantial experience of working with individuals in a health & social care setting.
- Knowledge and experience of challenges and needs of vulnerable individuals and of risk assessment & risk management.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and organise.
- Experience of working in partnership with statutory agencies (Social Work, Health).
- Excellent active listening and interpersonal skills.
- Substantial experience of coaching, supervising, or managing staff within a health & social care community setting.
- Understanding of Care Inspectorate/SSSC Standards.
- Ability to use personal skills to help staff develop; a creative approach to problem solving and good negotiation skills.
- Current UK Driver's Licence with access to own car; travel throughout the designated remit is expected.
- Health & social care qualification at level 3 or equivalent; management credits 15 at SCQF level 7 or willingness to work towards this is essential.
- SVQ Level 4 and appropriate management qualification for registration purposes is desirable (Willing to work towards this).
- Possible on-call during emergencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Post will be registered with the SSSC.
- PVG checks will be required for the successful applicant, as are two references (one from the most recent employer).
- Role may require frequent Covid testing as part of Health and Safety guidelines.
