Care Assistant Care and Support - Longbridge Deverill House & Nursing Home Contract

Part Time Salary: 12.50 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: 12 to 36

Our purpose-built care home offers outstanding Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care for the elderly, accommodating up to 60 residents in a comfortable and supportive environment designed to enhance their quality of life. At our home, you'll be a key person responsible in helping us achieve an excellent standard of care to our residents You'll be an integral part of our care team to promote the values and ethos of our home. As a Care Assistant, you'll play a vital role in our close-knit care team, ensuring our residents receive exceptional care and support. You'll help them with their daily routines, promote independence, and ensure their overall health and happiness are prioritized every day.

Short shift hours will be 7.30am - 2.30pm and 2.00pm - 8.00pm, and will include alternate weekends. The successful candidate will be flexible with their days, and be able to work either of the shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Empower Independence: Assist residents with their daily routines, from getting dressed to staying active, while encouraging them to make positive choices and remain as independent as possible.
  • Personalized Care: Follow and support each resident's personalized care plan, providing hands-on help and thoughtful attention to their individual needs.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Keep a close eye on residents' health, communicating any concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager, and helping with calls to relatives or healthcare professionals.
  • Champion Dignity: Uphold the dignity and respect of each resident, ensuring they feel valued and cared for in every interaction.
  • Social Support: Encourage social interactions among residents and with staff, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Safety and Comfort: Work with housekeepers to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living spaces, and respond quickly to emergencies or call bells.
  • Nutritional Support: Assist residents who need extra help with eating and drinking, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Spread Smiles: Above all, bring joy to our residents' lives and make them smile every day.
Qualifications
  • SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred.
  • Ideally, you have at least 6 months of experience as a Care Assistant, but we welcome those with a passion for care and transferable skills.
  • You’re genuinely interested in caring for the elderly and committed to delivering excellent service.
  • You bring integrity, respect, and a strong sense of teamwork to everything you do.
