Job description

We are seeking an experienced Canteen Team Leader to oversee night shift operations within our factory canteen. This role combines hands-on food preparation and service with responsibility for leading and supporting a small canteen team. You will ensure night shift staff receive quality food in a clean, safe, and well-organised environment, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork throughout the shift.As Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating daily tasks, setting standards, and ensuring smooth operation during night hours.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the canteen night shift function
• Preparation of food for night shift staff, following food safety and hygiene standards
• Serving meals and maintaining adequate food supplies during the shift
• Cleaning and housekeeping duties within the canteen, including food preparation areas, dining areas, and equipment
• Ensuring all health, safety, and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
• Ensure the relevant documentation is completed ie. product and temperature records, stock control, cleaning records
• Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or issues

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation or catering is essential
• Ability to work independently during night hours
• Good attention to cleanliness and hygiene
• Previous experience in food preparation or catering is an advantage, but not essential

Further Information

Additional night premium of £0.50 per hour worked between the hours of 10pm-6am. 32 hours (negotiable).What we offer: 4-day working week. Pension contributions after a successful probationary period. Health Cash Plan.
