Debbie – Core CAMHS worker

Have you ever thought about working in CAMHS but are unsure if you have the right skills? If you are a qualified healthcare professional, social worker or accredited therapist then we want to hear from you.

We believe in investing in our staff, and alongside opportunities to train at a postgraduate level via the young person’s IAPT scheme, we have a regular programme of on‑the‑job training and a comprehensive supervision offer that will help you to develop in your role. It is an exciting time for the service as we grow and expand our offer to the young people and families of North Derbyshire. As a core CAMHS worker you will liaise closely with other CAMHS services in the same building, becoming a key member of our specialist, multidisciplinary team. You will work in a supportive and friendly environment with professionals from a variety of clinical backgrounds, receiving regular clinical supervision and the chance to consult with clinicians across our pathways.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of complex young people with moderate to severe mental health disorders.
  • Carry out routine assessments and develop a collaborative care plan.
  • Offer first‑level therapeutic interventions, including CBT, systemic family therapy, DBT, IPT, and Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Screen for neuro‑developmental issues and make appropriate internal referrals to support the young people we work with.
  • Participate in regular training and supervision to further develop your skills.
