Job summary

CDW UK is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract, onsite in Cambridge. You will provide hands‑on end-user support within a laboratory environment, ensuring IT systems, hardware, software and peripherals operate securely and efficiently.

You will collaborate with IT teams and vendors, manage MECM/SCCM and Intune devices, deploy software and patches, and participate in change control within a regulated setting.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years in IT Support or related roles.
• Experience in Windows desktop and laptop environments.
• Experience with MECM/SCCM and Intune management.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, OS and peripheral issues.
• Install, configure, maintain, and support desktop and laptop environments.
• Administer MECM/SCCM and Intune managed devices.
• Deploy software and package applications; configure endpoints.
• Manage Windows patching and updates; ensure endpoint compliance.
• Perform routine maintenance and device lifecycle activities.
• Support hardware deployments, onboarding, moves and workstation setups.
• Collaborate with Networking, Security, Infrastructure and Lab IT teams.
• Follow change management and change control processes in a regulated environment.
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and escalations within SLAs.
• Maintain asset management records and CMDB updates.
• Utilise PowerShell scripting to automate tasks.
• Contribute to IT projects and document knowledge resources.
