Job description
At DB Cargo UK, we’re recruiting for a Calibration Technician to join our depot in Stoke.

As a Calibration Technician, you’ll support the maintenance and upkeep of DB Cargo and third-party locomotive and freight activities with compliant tooling and equipment via calibration to required standards.

You will also be work in conjunction with other DB Cargo UK Maintenance locations in with document monitoring and issuing.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain an up-to-date Calibration database including calibration certificates and historic records for tooling and equipment.
  • Perform calibration of DBC tooling and equipment to required industry standards.
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers for any calibration activities not covered in house to ensure certification of all equipment is maintained.
  • Source new or replacement tooling and equipment for any failures or new business requirements.
  • Liaise with various maintenance departments to ensure items due are sent to the calibration department in a timely manner to ensure tooling cannot drop out of calibration.
  • Monitor costs relating to replacement.
  • Support site management in maintaining certification to ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 accreditations.
Qualifications
  • Calibration equipment and tooling experience
  • Database and certificate monitoring and experience
  • Trained in a mechanical discipline.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above.
  • Accreditation to required calibration standards.
  • Rail industry experience would also be an advantage.
  • You must also be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary: £30,352 per annum.
  • 37 hours per week
  • You are entitled to 25 days’ paid holiday each year in addition to bank and other public holidays.
