Job Title: Café Assistant

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £23,742 - £26,093 per annum - SS1

Job type: Permanent, Full-time

The Role

A position has become available within the Catering Department at University College Birmingham for a Café Assistant. The successful candidate will work as part of a professional and diverse team in a busy food outlet, delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants must have experience working in a busy café environment, with both front- and back-of-house experience, including point-of-sale systems and food service. The successful candidate will be proactive and act as a positive and supportive member of the team.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates should have experience working in a food outlet and possess a sound knowledge of food hygiene standards and health and safety regulations, ensuring full compliance with due diligence requirements.

Excellent customer service skills are essential, with the ability to confidently upsell products and knowledge of online or digital ordering platforms.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to meet the operational demands of the service.
