A leading engineering services company in Greater London is urgently seeking an experienced CAD Technician specializing in AutoCAD Electrical for a 3-month contract with potential extension. The role involves producing 2D panel layouts and electrical schematics for bespoke control systems and requires strong 2D AutoCAD experience. Candidates should have knowledge of control panel layouts and the ability to work independently. It's an onsite position with occasional client site visits, and competitive pay based on experience.

Qualifications

Contract : Dec / JanMar 2026 (3m with potential extension)

A new position for an experienced CAD technician (not 3D CAD) is urgently required for a leading engineering services company for new upcoming projects to support upcoming project delivery.

This role focuses on 2D AutoCAD panel layouts and electrical schematics for bespoke control systems with automation and industrial engineering industries.

This is an ONSITE role with occasional client site visits (not remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D panel layout drawings and electrical schematics.
• Work with engineers to develop design packages for control panels and associated assemblies.
• Configure and utilise AutoCAD Electrical where applicable.
• Interpret engineering notes, design briefs, and standards to create compliant drawings.
• Support document control and drawing revision management.

Requirements

• Strong 2D AutoCAD experience (non-3D role).
• Electrical knowledge and understanding of control panel layouts.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Previous experience in industrial automation, utilities, or manufacturing environments beneficial.

Contract Details

• Start: Before Christmas ideal, but likely January.
• Duration: Jan end of March with potential extension based on incoming projects.
