Job summary

A growing engineering firm is seeking a CAD Technician on a contract basis in Portsmouth. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in CAD/Design, particularly with Autodesk software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault. Responsibilities include producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings, managing CAD administration, supporting automation initiatives, and collaborating closely with engineers. Candidates should have the right to work in the UK. Competitive hourly rates are offered for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a CAD/Design position.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor or similar software.
• Experience in workshop or manufacturing environments is advantageous.
• Eligible to work in the UK and obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings and models using Autodesk software including Inventor, Vault and AutoCAD
• Daily CAD administration including management of Autodesk Vault, templates, libraries and standards
• Supporting automation and process improvement through CAD tools and scripting
• Conducting quality reviews of drawings and models to ensure compliance with internal and client requirements
• Working closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to support product development and productionization

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience within a CAD/Design position
• Experience using Autodesk Inventor or similar software
• Experience of workshop or manufacturing environments would be advantageous
• Candidates must be able to obtain clearance and should have the right to work in the UK
