£30,000-£35,000 plus opportunity

Monday-Friday (hybrid working options)

Our client is a leading bespoke joinery and furniture company that values creativity, teamwork, and developing people. They are looking for a CAD Designer who wants to develop their career creating and designing bespoke furniture, joinery, and interior finishing projects, turning ideas into accurate drawings and 3D models, and working closely with the workshop and installation teams.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Create clear 2D drawings and 3D models for furniture, joinery, and finishing projects
  • Put together technical drawings that the workshop and fitters can actually build from
  • Make simple visuals or layouts to help clients see how things will look
  • Update designs if clients change their minds or site measurements don't match
  • Work with project managers, carpenters, and fitters to make sure designs are practical and on-time
  • Talk to clients, architects, and suppliers to turn ideas into workable drawings - Propose new ideas
  • Help with quotes by providing drawings and material details
  • Keep drawings tidy, organised, and up to date
  • Check that designs follow safety rules and building standards
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Must have Solidworks proficiency
  • Hands-on knowledge of joinery and/or furniture making
  • Experience turning rough ideas or sketches into clear technical drawings
  • Able to read and understand architectural or engineering drawings
  • Good at spotting practical problems in designs before they reach the workshop
  • Experience juggling a few different projects at the same time
  • Used to talking with clients or suppliers about design details and materials
  • Some knowledge of UK building regs and safety standards (nice to have, not essential)
