The Role

As a Buyer, you ll play a vital role in the procurement process ensuring our projects run smoothly, cost-effectively, and on time. Working closely with our project managers, site teams, and suppliers, you ll be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating terms, and maintaining excellent supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure materials, plant, and equipment in line with project requirements
  • Negotiate best value on prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Monitor market trends and identify new opportunities for cost savings
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to site, preventing project delays
  • Manage purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance
  • Work closely with estimating and site teams to understand procurement needs
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reports
About You
  • Proven experience in a buying/procurement role within the construction or civil engineering industry
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
  • Familiarity with construction materials, plant hire, and supplier networks
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, procurement software, etc.)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
