Job description

Successful manufacturing business requires a Buyer. An excellent opportunity foe an experienced Buyer or a Procurement Assistant / Procurement Administrator looking to advance their career, with a forward-thinking market leading business.

The Buyer will join a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. Focusing on both component and finished product procurement, the Buyer will help ensure continuity of supply to the production lines while also meeting spares / aftermarket demand from customers. Working closely with international suppliers based both in Europe and the Far East, the Buyer will take ownership of MRP data and support business-wide cost down initiatives.

Specific duties of the Buyer include :
  • Management of the Purchase Order process - raise, place and expedite
  • Scheduling and re-scheduling of orders
  • Supplier liaison and management driving the supply chain against OTD / OTIF metrics
  • Maintenance of supplier and procurement department data in MRP
  • Support strategic procurement tasks - cost down initiatives, supplier rationalisation and innovation
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria :
  • Relevant experience as a Buyer, or supporting procurement activity as an Expeditor, Procurement Administrator, Procurement Assistant, Purchasing Administrator, Purchasing Assistant or in a broader supply chain or logistics role
