Job description

Aureos are currently seeking a Buyer to join our group function. This role involves managing the end-to-end procurement of indirect goods and services, including but is not limited to categories such as stationary, PPE and workwear, IT, facilities, marketing, professional services.

As a Buyer you will have experience in the construction sector and ideally managing indirect spend. You will lead RFQs, tenders, and contract negotiations while ensuring compliance with regulatory and sustainability standards. You will driving continuous improvement in supply chain operations monitoring key performance indicators, and identifying opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process efficiency.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive negotiator and relationship builder, have an analytical mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills will support data-driven decision-making and foster collaborative partnerships with suppliers and internal teams.

The successful candidate will have the option to work within one of our offices in Crewe, Nottingham or Sheffield

Indirect Procurement Management
  • Source and procure indirect goods and services in line with company policies and category strategies
  • Lead RFQs, tenders, and supplier negotiations to secure best value
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers
  • Develop Strategic Relationships with key DNO suppliers, leveraging reputation, commercial strength, and route to market to mutual benefit.
Supplier Relationship Management
  • Monitor supply chain performance using KPIs and analytics to drive continuous improvement
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and innovation
  • Deliver contract negotiations and supplier performance reviews
Stakeholder management and Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand needs and align procurement strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Provide efficient and timely procurement of materials in line with the overall business strategy.
Cost Negotiation and Budget Management
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with the project teams to manage budgets effectively.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal, ethical, and sustainability standards and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
  • Work closely with Finance Department and resolve any invoice related issues to allow smooth P2P process.
Qualifications, Training, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proven experience in indirect procurement or purchasing (2–5 years preferred)
  • Experience in procuring materials related to indirect spend
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g. COINS)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards)
