A local healthcare provider in Rickmansworth is looking for an experienced Business Operations Manager to manage operations across multiple sites. Responsibilities include leading CQC compliance, overseeing day-to-day operations, and managing NHS pension administration. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills and must have experience in operations management within a primary care setting.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business OperationsManager to support the smooth running of our GP surgery across multiple sites.This role is crucial in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance,and high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will lead on CQC & building compliance, manage pensions, overseeday-to-day operations (mainly at one site but will be called upon for othersites), provide support to the Partners and Practice Manager and with HR administration.
Lead on all CQC compliance activity across all sites (primary leadership area) including the coordination/preparation for inspections and internal quality audits
Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and embed best practice across teams
Provide support to the Partners and Practice Manager
Maintain and update policies, procedures, risk assessments and governance documentation
Operational Management

Manage all aspects of NHS pension administration
The Gade & Chorleywood Health Centres, with around 20,000patients, consists of 2 recently merged surgeries which are based across 3sites in Rickmansworth & Chorleywood. We have 6 partners, 8 salaried GP'sand several nurses, HCA's, Phlebotomists & Clinical Pharmacists plus aPhysician Assistant. We also have around 32 administrative and reception staffand as a training practice we regularly have GP's in training working with us.
Lead on all CQC compliance activity for the surgery across all sites
Oversee daily operations at a designated practice site
Ensure effective workflow, patient access and service delivery
Provide operational support to the partners, clinical andadministrative teams
Identify and implement process improvements
Address and resolve operational issues promptly
Support the Deputy Practice Manager with HR processes includingrecruitment, onboarding, induction, mandatory training and first line support to staff
Maintain accurate staff records, including absence tracking andperformance documentation
Assist with policies, procedures and staff communications
Take responsibility for building compliance across our sites
Ensure all maintenance schedules, safety checks and statutorycompliance tasks are completed (e.g., fire safety, infection control, healthand safety, estates documentation)
Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and service providers
Maintain logs and documentation for inspections and audits
Escalate facilities issues and support planning for siteimprovements
Manage all aspects of NHS pension administration
PCSE coordination
Work closely with payroll provider
Maintain accurate pension records and provide guidance to staff
Provide support with HR, finance, contracts, scheduling andproject delivery
Assist with meeting preparation, reporting and data collection
Contribute to strategic planning and service development
Deputise for the Practice Manager when required
