Overview

Brooklyn Recruitment are currently working with a Haulage / Logistics company based in the Burton-upon-Trent area of Staffordshire to recruit a Business Development Manager. This role is within a small friendly sales team and reports directly to the UK Director. This role can be home based as you would be expected to be out visiting customers the majority of the time with 1 day a week ideally being spent in the office in the Burton-on-Trent area.

Responsibilities
  • In the first year you will focus on 100% new business; in subsequent years you will retain and grow sales with existing clients while also adding new ones.
  • Set your own diary; any overnight stays away are led by you but not a major part of the role.
  • You may very occasionally visit the company’s headquarters in Europe, but this would be very rare.
  • Sell within the domestic road haulage market and manage customer relationships in a way that aligns with the company’s focus on automotive and chemical haulage (but can transport most goods).
Qualifications and qualities
  • Experience of selling within the domestic road haulage market.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
