As such, they are now seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to work closely with the Sales Director, and play a key role in developing their customer base and strengthening existing relationships.

The Role

This is a hands‑on, outward‑facing role suited to someone who thrives on customer interaction. You will spend significant time engaging with customers, attending industry events, and developing long‑term relationships within aerospace, nuclear and defence supply chains. Rather than selling proprietary products, you will be representing the client’s build-to-print manufacturing capability, working directly from customer designs and specifications.

What’s in it for you?
  • £40,000 – £55,000 basic salary (dependent on experience and location)
  • Company car allowance
  • Commission structure (performance‑related incentives, uncapped)
  • Flexible working – 1 day per week required onsite
  • Opportunity to grow with the business and shape the commercial function
  • Benefits: Pension, holiday entitlement, healthcare, appraisals and much more
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities within aerospace, nuclear and defence markets
  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts, focusing on long‑term partnerships
  • Act as a key commercial interface between customers and internal engineering teams
  • Maintain a strong and accurate sales pipeline aligned to company targets
  • Represent the client at customer meetings, trade shows, and relevant industry events
  • Provide market and customer insight to support strategic decision‑making
  • Contribute to structured sales processes and regular reporting
About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who bring energy, credibility, and commercial curiosity to the role. You are likely to have:

  • 5‑10 years’ experience in business development, sales, or client account management
  • Exposure to aerospace, nuclear and/or defence environments (highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of build‑to‑print manufacturing and working from customer designs is essential
  • Knowledge of machining, additive machining, 3D printing, fabrication or complex assembly is desirable
  • Confidence operating with long sales cycles and complex stakeholder groups
  • A proactive, relationship‑led approach with a genuine interest in customer engagement
Why join?

You’ll be joining a forward‑thinking precision engineering business with strong values, a collaborative culture, and a clear commitment to long‑term customer success. This role offers autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a respected aerospace, nuclear and defence supply chain.
