ORGANISATION

We are hiring on behalf of a leading global shipowner and shipping solutions provider, with a strong presence across Europe and Asia. The company is known for its focus on quality, safety, and sustainability. Combining deep maritime expertise and advanced technologies to provide dependable services, they have built lasting partnerships with shipping organizations and cargo owners worldwide. We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to assist our client in expanding their shipping, maritime technology, and third party ship management business. Based in London, this position is a commercially-focused business development role.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and drive new commercial opportunities, evaluating potential ventures and leading initiatives from concept through execution
  • Negotiate, structure, and manage commercial contracts that support sustainable growth and long-term business development in shipping
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Technical, Operations, and Finance—to shape and advance new business lines within the ship management and ship owning business
  • Develop and maintain revenue forecasts, track key commercial metrics, and produce clear reports for senior management
  • Build compelling business cases and annual budgets, articulating value propositions for new and existing services
  • Analyse market trends and competitive landscapes within shipping to identify leads and develop relationships
  • Design and implement commercial growth strategies for diverse activities such as ship management, training services, and emerging business lines
YOUR PROFILE
  • Qualifications in Business Management, Business Development, Law, Economics or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a commercial, business development, investment, or strategy role within shipping, commodities, energy, finance, infrastructure, or a related field
  • Demonstrated track record in conceiving, structuring, and executing new business initiatives in your past roles
  • Capable of handling a broad and evolving portfolio of activities
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Broad understanding of shipping markets, commodities flow, commercial structures in shipping, regulatory frameworks, ship management industry is desirable, and expertise in one of these areas is a must
