Rates of pay:£14.86 inclusive of holiday pay


Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable and professional Bus Driver to operate both school and local service buses across Dumfries and Galloway covering areas as far as Stranraer. The role involves safely transporting passengers-including school pupils and the general public-while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:





  • Operate school transport routes, ensuring the safe and timely collection and drop-off of pupils




  • Drive public service buses on scheduled routes throughout the region




  • Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects or incidents




  • Provide friendly and helpful service to all passengers




  • Ensure compliance with all road traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures




  • Assist passengers with mobility needs as required




  • Handle fare collection and issue tickets where applicable




Requirements:





  • Valid PCV (Category D) licence and Driver CPC qualification




  • Good knowledge of local roads and routes (or willingness to learn)




  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills




  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and punctual




  • Previous experience in school or service bus driving is desirable but not essential
