A local healthcare organization in Greater London is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Craftsperson to maintain high standards in estates engineering across several community sites. The ideal candidate will have a multi-skilled approach, encompassing painting, electrical, and construction maintenance. This role emphasizes efficiency, safety, and excellent customer care to ensure seamless operations across all locations.
The Estates Department is looking for an experienced Building Maintenance Craftsperson to join their team in the day‑to‑day maintenance of the Hospital. The post holder will deliver a high standard of work relating to estates engineering across multiple community sites, providing efficient and safe service to patients and stakeholders and offering excellent customer care at all Croydon sites.
The post holder must have a multi‑skilled approach to a wide range of semi‑skilled work across core trade skills, be able to undertake work in a safe and effective manner, and comply with all relevant safety legislation, procedures and the Estates Health and Safety Procedures manual. Required skills include Painting & Decorating, Electrical/Mechanical and Building/Construction maintenance and repairs. The individual should work independently and as part of a team, assist multi‑skilled craftsmen, demonstrate ability to manage a multi‑task environment, cover for other Assistant Crafts Persons during leave, sickness or vacancies, carry Trust communication devices (pagers/bleeps) to facilitate immediate response to emergencies, communicate courteously with colleagues, patients and visitors, keep service delivery managers informed of engineering and building issues affecting service delivery, and take direction from Estates Team Leaders or the Estates Maintenance Planner Coordinator (EMPC) for completion of planned workloads.
