Job summary

Amey is seeking a Lead Senior Engineer (Bridges) to join our Consulting Highways team in the UK. The role involves leading bridge design across schemes, mentoring junior staff and ensuring designs meet CDM and Eurocode standards. You will collaborate with clients and integrate with a network of over 350 Structures Engineers.

Based in Cardiff or other UK offices, you will balance site/office work with remote days, delivering high quality solutions across the National Highways network.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Engineer or equivalent in highways/bridges.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status desirable or essential on some contracts.
• Strong understanding of CDM, DM RB and Eurocodes relevant to bridge design.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to deliver technically sound bridge engineering solutions across projects.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for scheme delivery.
• Mentor junior designers and manage performance within the team.
• Control budgets and manage costs within the project portfolio.
• Liaise with clients and suppliers at peer level and attended progress meetings.
• Contribute to bids and work-winning activities.
• Promote health and safety practices within the team.
