Job summary

Amey Consulting Structures in Glasgow seeks a permanent Senior Engineer (Bridges) to lead design projects and mentor junior engineers within the Bridges team. You will join a specialist group delivering intricate highway and infrastructure schemes across the UK.

We value safety, collaboration and innovation; you will manage bids, prepare robust designs, review calculations, and liaise with clients while driving health and safety best practices. Chartered status is favourable.

Qualifications

• Developedexperience and expertise within the Structures field.
• Ability to produce technically sound engineering solutions meeting standards and client requirements.
• Ownership of deliverables and ability to review others’ work to a reasonable standard.
• Strong knowledge of CDM and risk assessment practices.
• Experience in interface management and coordination across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team and delivering technically sound structural solutions.
• Taking ownership of projects from quotation to handover.
• Preparing and checking designs, calculations and drawings for scheme deliverables.
• Overseeing junior staff and mentoring them as a Delegated Engineer.
• Liaising with client and supplier representatives and attending progress meetings.
• Managing a small, local, single-discipline team and ensuring workload delivery.
• Contributing to bids and the wider work-winning function.
• Driving effective Health and Safety practices within the team.
