Job summary

Amey Consulting is seeking a Structures Engineer / Bridges Engineer to join the South West team. You will work on National Highways schemes and collaborate with offices in Cardiff, Exeter, London and Bristol, with three days on site and two days remote.

You will contribute to feasibility through design and construction, with exposure to varied bridge types and responsibilities across the UK network. An opportunity to progress toward Chartered status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate subject.
• Working toward Incorporated or Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE or equivalent.
• Experience with DMRB and Eurocodes for highway bridge design, strengthening, refurbishment and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Producing technically sound engineering solutions.
• Taking ownership and supporting the management and technical delivery of projects from start to finish.
• Preparation of designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation for scheme deliverables.
• Supporting and guiding more junior staff on similar tasks.
• Contributing to professional development of junior staff and pursuing your own development.
• Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level and attending progress meetings.
• Ensuring delivery within a scheme project and team portfolio with a local technical team.
• Contributing to bids and work-winning activities.
• Driving health and safety practices within the team.
• Applying sustainability practices in engineering.
• Managing multi-discipline infrastructure projects and stakeholder relationships.
