Amey is recruiting a Structures Engineer to join our Consulting Structures Team in the South West, with hybrid work patterns and offices in Exeter, Cardiff, Bristol and London. You will contribute to feasibility, design, and construction across National Highways schemes, guiding junior engineers and delivering multi-discipline projects.

The role requires experience toward Chartership or Incorporated status, strong technical knowledge of DMRB/Eurocodes, and a focus on safety, sustainability and

Qualifications

• Developed experience and expertise within the structures field, possibly in an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent.
• Able to produce technically sound engineering solutions meeting relevant standards (DMRB, Eurocodes).
• Experience with interface management and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities

• Produce technically sound engineering solutions.
• Take ownership of management and technical delivery of projects from start to finish.
• Prepare designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for scheme deliverables.
• Guide and mentor junior staff and contribute to their development.
• Engage with clients and suppliers at peer level; attend progress meetings.
• Work within a locally based team and contribute to scheme/project delivery portfolio.
• Contribute to bids and general work-winning activities.
• Promote Health and Safety best practices within the team.
• Promote sustainability in engineering and multi-discipline project management.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
