Job summary

Nationwide in East Grinstead, West Sussex, is seeking a Customer Representative to help customers in branch, on the phone and online. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, part-time, 28 hours per week, Monday to Saturday.

You’ll welcome customers, handle transactions and queries, and guide people to the right banking products and digital tools. The branch has selective closure days and you’ll support calls on the savings line when closed to the public.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is helpful, but banking experience is not required.
• Patience, empathy and strong people skills are essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly.
• Comfort with using technology and digital services.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers into the branch and understand their needs, offering trusted help with banking.
• Handle a range of transactions and queries accurately, while keeping security and fairness in mind.
• Guide customers through banking products and services that are right for them, helping manage their money confidently.
• Work with colleagues in a busy branch to deliver excellent customer service, even at peak times.
• Follow processes, identify issues, and escalate concerns to protect customers and Nationwide.
