Job summary

A leading energy services provider in the UK is looking for a BOP Lead Technician. In this role, you will lead front-line teams in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of Blowout Preventer (BOP) equipment. Your experience with well control systems and supervisory skills will be essential as you ensure operation efficiency and mentor junior technicians. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with repair and maintenance of well control equipment.
  • 3+ years in a lead, supervisor, or service coordination role.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company MVR requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in preventative maintenance, pressure testing, and repair of well control equipment.
  • Supervise and assign daily work to technicians based on schedule and priorities.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, valves, and BOPs in both shop and field environments.

Job description

Work Schedule:Rotational - 28 days on / 14 days off

However, due to the nature of the business, weekend and evening hours will be required.
Travel Required:Up to 20%
Status:Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Reports to:BOP Manager
Supervises:BOP Technicians

What We're Looking For:
Required Experience & Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with therepair and maintenance of well control equipment
  • 3+ years in a lead, supervisor, or service coordination role
  • Experience with inventory control and technician oversight
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet company Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check, physical exam, and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

This role is hands-on and requires physical stamina. Expect regular standing, walking, sitting, and lifting to 50 lbs occasionally. PPE use is required in shop areas, and work conditions may include loud noise and variable temperatures.

We’re looking for aBOP Lead Technicianto join our dynamic team. In this supervisory role, you'll lead by example—combining frontline leadership with hands‑on work in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of Blowout Preventer (BOP) equipment and related systems.

You’ll be the go‑to resource for ensuring smooth operations in both the shop and thefield. From overseeing daily tasks and mentoring junior technicians to executing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting critical issues, your role is key to keeping our equipment—and people—running at peak performance.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and participate in preventative maintenance, pressure testing, and repair of well control equipment
  • Ensure work is performed safely and meets HSE and industry standards (API, OEM)
  • Supervise and assign daily work to technicians based on schedule and priorities
  • Review timecards, validate job hours, and confirm completion of work orders
  • Record and submit pressure test data, verify documentation accuracy
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, valves, and BOPs, in both shop and field environments
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and reinforce safety/QMS standards
  • Train and mentor newer technicians on best practices and documentation
  • Monitor inventory and help request critical parts and supplies
  • Serve as after-hours contact for field support as part of an on‑call rotation
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and lead in themanager’s absence
  • Take on additional tasks or projects as assigned
