NC Associates are partnering with a well‑established, independent, family‑run manufacturing business. Producing bespoke, high‑end building products, the business continues to grow and operate across multiple locations in the North West, supplying trade and public customers.

Due to continued growth, Illingworth Ingham now has an immediate requirement for a Bookkeeper to join their Head Office finance team based in Trafford Park.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, and working closely with Directors and Senior Managers, this role offers excellent exposure to a broad finance remit. It will suit a motivated and detail‑focused Bookkeeper who is eager to learn, develop, and progress within a successful and growing organisation.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities
  • Preparation of supplier BACS payments
  • Sales Ledger duties including posting customer receipts, credit control, issuing invoices, and resolving queries
  • Purchase Ledger processing including posting supplier invoices, statement reconciliations, and payment allocations
  • Assisting with the preparation of Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss accounts, and Cash Flow statements
  • Supporting forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Performing month‑end processes accurately and within deadlines
  • Producing timely and accurate financial information to support business decision‑making
  • Reviewing the general ledger including journals, inter‑company transactions, and fixed assets
  • Preparing and maintaining Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting internal and external audits when required
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly group VAT returns
Bookkeeper Experience Required
  • Previous experience working within an accounts or finance role
  • AAT qualification (desirable)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Experience using Sage 50 / Sage 200
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive, committed, and professional approach
Desirable
  • Payroll experience (beneficial but not essential)
