The Science Department

The Science Faculty is a highly respected and successful part of the school. It consistently achieves excellent outcomes at GCSE and is housed in 11 fully equipped science laboratories. Job Description – Science Teacher (Biology Specialism)

Reporting To

Head of Department / Faculty Lead / Head of Year

Key Accountabilities

1 – Teaching & Learning

Deliver high-quality Biology and Science lessons across the allocated timetable.

Follow and apply Health & Safety procedures in Science laboratories.

2 – Assessment & Reporting

Assess students according to school, departmental and exam board requirements.

Provide written and oral feedback for individuals and groups.

Communicate with parents as required through school systems.

3 – Support & Guidance (Form Tutor Responsibilities)

Provide pastoral care for a tutor group.

Monitor academic progress and provide support where required.

Encourage full participation in school life.

4 – Additional Duties

Undertake any reasonable additional tasks required by the Principal.

Comply with all Trust and school policies including safeguarding, pastoral care, Health & Safety, security, confidentiality and GDPR.
