Billing & Accounts Officer

Location: Carshalton Road, Sutton, SM1 4LE

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 3+ months

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Pay Rate: £17.39 per hour

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage service charge and major work accounts promptly.
  • Provide payment options and refer leaseholders to advice sources if needed.
  • Refer debts to external solicitors when appropriate.
  • Recommend debts or credits for write-off or write-on.
  • Process refunds for accounts in credit.
  • Encourage and manage direct debit payments.
  • Take payments over the phone using debit or credit cards.
  • Support the team during busy periods and work flexibly.
  • Collaborate with SHP staff for essential customer services.
  • Attend resident forums and meetings as required.
  • Assist in calculating service charge actuals and invoice processes.
  • Respond to correspondence and complaints promptly.
  • Achieve personal and team targets and participate in initiatives.

Must Have
  • Customer‑focused experience and commitment to excellent service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice to Have

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Business insurance for own car.
