Are you a Bid Writer who thrives on producing high-quality, deadline-driven proposals?

Do you want to make a direct impact on major recruitment and staffing contracts?

We're looking for a talented Bid Writer to join a well-established national recruitment business operating across multiple sectors. In this role, you'll be part of a centralised team responsible for writing persuasive, compliant, and competitive tenders for high-value public and private sector contracts.

Working closely with colleagues in Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal, you'll gather the technical and operational details needed to create tailored bids that showcase workforce solutions and service delivery expertise. This is a varied role that requires exceptional writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple bids at once.

We're especially keen to hear from people with bid writing experience in the recruitment, staffing, or outsourcing sector, though we also welcome applications from candidates in other content-heavy, fast-paced industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end bid process for recruitment and staffing tenders, from initial scoping to final submission.
  • Write compelling, tailored responses that highlight service capability, workforce delivery models, and compliance with client specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal experts to capture operational processes, candidate supply chain methods, and recruitment compliance frameworks.
  • Ensure all bids are accurate, well-structured, and submitted within deadlines.
  • Develop supporting bid content including case studies, workforce implementation plans, mobilisation strategies, and quality assurance documents.
  • Maintain and improve the central bid library for efficiency in future tenders.
  • Use strong formatting, visuals, and layout to enhance bid presentation.
  • Research competitor activity, public sector frameworks, and industry trends to strengthen bid strategies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in the bid function.
What our Clients are looking for:

Excellent writing and editing skills able to create persuasive, professional content.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple recruitment bids simultaneously.

High attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality control.

Comfortable working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint (InDesign or similar would be an advantage).

Experience in a corporate, recruitment, or professional services environment.

APMP accreditation (Foundation or above), or the ambition to work towards it.

Knowledge of public sector procurement frameworks such as CCS, ESPO, YPO, or NHS Workforce Alliance.

Previous experience writing tenders in recruitment, staffing, or workforce outsourcing solutions.

Familiarity with bid/tender platforms such as Responsive, Loopio, or Autogen AI.

Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.

This position is based in Rochdale with hybrid working. Easily accessible from Manchester City Centre, Oldham, Bury, Bolton, Salford, Middleton, Heywood, and Ashton-under-Lyne. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, presentations, or workshops, with some overnight stays.
