A distinguished educational institution in the UK seeks a committed individual for a behaviour support role. Located in The Hook, you will provide short-term support to students needing time out to reflect on their conduct. The position involves working 37 hours a week during term-time with a salary range of £22,680 to £24,173 pro-rated. Start date is as soon as possible.
We are seeking to appoint a committed and empathetic individual to support our high standards of behaviour for learning at Hanley Castle High School. The successful candidate will work within the Ready to Learn Room, providing short-term support to students who require time out or reflection due to not meeting classroom conduct expectations. This role involves fostering a calm, purposeful environment where students can re-establish positive behaviours, working closely with the Ready to Learn Room Manager and the wider pastoral team.
We are looking for someone with experience in behaviour and pastoral support in education or a similar setting, who is confident in managing challenging situations using de-escalation techniques, and can demonstrate strong skills in motivating students. You should be an outstanding role model, empathetic yet firm, with excellent communication skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. A passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential, commitment to inclusion and diversity, resilience and the ability to work calmly as part of a team are essential. Working hours: 37 hours per week, 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday-Thursday, 8.30am-4.00pm Friday (includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break). Permanent. Term-time only plus 8 Professional Development Days. Salary: Scale 4, SCP7-11 FTE, £25,584 - £27,269 FTE, depending on skills and experience. Pro-rated to £22,680 - £24,173 per annum. Start Date: As soon as possible.
