Behaviour Mentor

Location: Gravesend
Pay: £90 - £100 per day
Start Date: January 2026

Academics are currently working in partnership with an Alternative Provision in Gravesend to recruit a Behaviour Mentor to support students with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviours.

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is resilient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to mainstream education.

The Role
  • Providing 1:1 and small group behavioural support to students
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, engagement, and social skills
  • Implementing behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies
  • Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Acting as a positive role model to promote consistency and structure
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations effectively
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in education, youth work, care, or mentoring is desirable
