Financial Crime EDD Analyst

Role Overview

The Risk Assessment Unit Analyst is responsible for supporting the Financial Crime risk and control framework within Barclaycard Payments, working closely with key stakeholders to understand and manage financial crime risk exposure. The role involves conducting high‑risk customer reviews, managing alerts and investigations, overseeing financial crime exits, performing quality control on KYC/CDD files, and supporting sanctions reviews. Analysts are expected to provide expert guidance to business teams, maintain risk and control documentation, and contribute to monthly risk reporting cycles. The position requires strong stakeholder management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with key stakeholders to fully understand the nature of the Barclaycard Payments Financial Crime risk exposure and promote, embed, and support an open and participative culture that champions proactive risk management, governance, and control.
  • Promote the continuous improvement to the control environment and, where appropriate, instigate change to deliver this.
  • Support the ExFo and management to understand Financial Crime risk exposure and ensure that it is managed in accordance with the set risk appetite and complies with Group policies, legislation, and regulations.
  • Conduct high‑risk customer reviews and manage alerts and investigations.
  • Oversee financial crime exits and perform quality control on KYC/CDD files.
  • Support sanctions reviews and provide expert guidance to business teams.
  • Maintain risk and control documentation and contribute to monthly risk reporting cycles.
Candidate Requirements
  • Working knowledge of financial crime regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in financial institutions (preferably in the first or second line of defence).
